The Trust raises funds to empower our library to effect meaningful change in our community.

Dear Friends,

As you may know, the Glendale Library Foundation and the Friends of the Glendale Public Library have successfully merged to create the Glendale Library, Arts & Culture Trust (GLACT).

We’ve come to expect excellent programming and services from our Glendale Library, Arts & Culture department, including 1.2 million eBooks, online programs that range from Storytime and homework help to make workshops and cultural celebrations, and a host of other resources that make our Jewel City shine. As children in our community emerge from another year of distance learning, we celebrate their tenacity and commitment by planning an enriching summer reading program to prevent learning loss over the summer and to foster an equitable space for children from all backgrounds to rediscover the joy of being lost in a story that speaks directly to them.

The theme for this upcoming summer’s reading program – colors – speaks to the value, beauty, and vibrancy of the very plurality that defines our great city. With all the changes taking place in the lives of our youngest residents, this reading program — including guest performers, numerous books in accessible formats, gift books, and prizes — will keep kids reading, learning, and growing.

We hope you’ll support our efforts by contributing to our GoFundMe page or mailing a check payable to GLACT, 222 E. Harvard Street Glendale, California 91205.

Thank you,
